Original title: Singin' In The Rain - 1952 | 103 min
Genre: Comedy
Director: Stanley Donen, Gene Kelly
Cast: Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor, Debbie Reynolds

Set in the era of transition from silent to talking movies, this classic is a must see for all fans of musicals. Gene Kelly plays the role of Don Lockwood a star of silent movies, his leading lady, Lamont (Jean Hagen) is portrayed as his love interest off the screen but this is in fact a P.R rumour started by their studio. When Don meets Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds) a relationship quickly develops, while it becomes clear Lena will struggle with the transition to talkies because of her grating voice and strong New York accent.  This makes for hilarity as the whole crew struggle to make this whole new era of movie making work.  Worth watching for the iconic scene with Gene Kelly singing and dancing in a downpour of rain that gives the movie its title.
